Cool Fine Art Thread - alias "Aesthetics"

hello, dear folks of the aregames.art forums. it’s your pal quinn here - and i’ve been enjoying… art!

recently, moreso than before, i’ve found myself paying close attention when a piece of art - a painting, or otherwise still image - that i liked came across my various digital feeds - and i’ve found myself needing to save and catalogue the art that i liked i came across, artist and all.

so this thread right here is for you to post visual art you enjoy anytime you come across it! any medium, any time period - anything! (though for the sake of the site, it may be best to post film/animation-type inspirations as youtube links, rather than hosting them here).

also: use “hide details” when posting multiple images to prevent this thread from just being extremely hard to navigate! thank you :gms_explosion:

you can treat this as a “moodboard” of sorts, or just as sharing a painting / several paintings you enjoy by one artist. you can also post as often as you want, whenever something new needs sharing - BUT: please always provide a source, or the artist’s name!

i’ll start:

these are a series of surreal, tree-based landscapes by Markus Matthias Krüger, an artist from Leipzig.

there’s something perturbingly isolating about these images. it’s nature that feels tamed, but not friendly - not safe.

to single my favorite one out, here’s a nightmarishly dark storm in a nightmarishly long poplar alley:

These are great! the nearly pointillistic level of detail is terrifying to think about from a craftsmanship level! ( @ _@)

i want to showcase some work from a local artist who i really liked, his name is Nemesio Antunez, he makes these abstracted landscapes with various themes, but funnily enough, my favorite is the one closest to reality

Some paintings of his

the way the araucarias whip and flake away under a deep red sunset…it just really feels like the times ive been to those forest before, and despite the threatening, complementary palette, i can only say, it looks like that

i really like these paintings! while i don’t have the same favorite as you, i enjoy the use of glass-pane imagery a lot; it’s very evocative, and the crayon-like texture on those paintings speaks to me too.

happy to see somebody already posting some straight fire (:fire: ) in this thread >:) hope to see more awesome art people found!

bunch of installations by this artist in my city - sad i never saw this specific one in real life, though.
