Post issues you find with the site or the style of elements here. Screenshots if possible would be helpful. Let me know if anything looks weird or is hard to read on your device!
hey! i’m unsure if this is a “bug”, per se (it feels like an intentional choice), but i’ve found myself barred from editing the first post of a thread i made in late 2023.
this would typically not be that bad of a thing - a straightforward way to prevent an attempt at rewriting history - but at the same time, isn’t there already functionality in place to see a difference between prior edits?
additionally, one of the major foundations of this forum is devlogs. and in my own old-timey forum experience, the first post of a game project’s thread does benefit from periodic updates as the game advances and the old screenshots in that first view people get of the game become outdated.
that’s my two cents on the matter, at least. i’d love to know the rationale behind that decision, though, and whether my view of things is too shortsighted (it well might be). ;u;
incredibly weird! the default settings put in a statute on editing that ends only 12 hours after posting. there’s a lot of quirks like this configured into discourse that really show it’s built more towards things like customer support, QnA sites. I try to whittle away as much of that weirdness as i can. if i had to guess it’s a bot/spam protection thing where it wants to stop links from secretly going back and getting edited maliciously after a page goes ‘stale’
yeah the definite intent for a devlog i think is to keep the original post updated frequently with the most relevant links. it should be fixed now
thank you so much :> i will replace all the sword’s in swipe week thread with dongs, now .
(this will only go well for me)
